Overview
The role of the Historical Preservation Committee is to review nominations for local historic landmarks and make recommendations to the City Council. Once a structure is locally landmarked, the Committee also reviews proposals for moving, exterior remodeling and/or demolition. In addition, the Committee conducts historical surveys and assists with public education programs about local history.
The board consists of five citizen-members who are appointed to 2-year terms. At least one member must also be a Ute Pass Historical Society Board Member or designee. This board may also include one member of the City Council, one member of the Planning Commission, and one youth member.
