Woodland Park Police Captain Kristyn Arseneau
A lifelong resident of Colorado, Captain Kristyn Arseneau brings a diverse background and over a decade of law enforcement experience to the Woodland Park Police Department (WPPD). After joining the department in January 2023, she quickly advanced through the ranks, earning a promotion to Lieutenant in April and achieving the rank of Captain by December 2023.
As Captain, she serves as second-in-command, stepping into the Chief’s role when necessary and assisting with the strategic planning, coordination, and supervision of departmental operations. Her leadership is instrumental in ensuring the smooth functioning of the WPPD.
Captain Arseneau began her career in law enforcement in 2011 with the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, where she gained extensive experience in Detentions, Special Operations, and Patrol. Their roles included serving as a School Resource Officer, Deputy, and Sergeant. Captain Arseneau earned numerous accolades throughout her career, including a Leadership Award, Life-Saving Award, Commander’s Citation, Employee of the Month, and the Chief’s Award of Excellence.
Before entering law enforcement, Captain Arseneau demonstrated a strong entrepreneurial spirit as the owner of a Cold Stone Creamery, where she was honored as a Top 40 Achiever under 40 by the Colorado Springs Business Journal. Her professional journey also includes experience in the title industry, serving as an EMT, and volunteer firefighting.
When not at work, Captain Arseneau enjoys exploring the outdoors through activities like horseback riding, water skiing, and scuba diving. Captain Arseneau also has a passion for traveling and spending time in nature.
