Beginning in March 2025, the Colorado Department of Transportation will start a new project in Woodland Park. The project consists of widening and making mobility and safety improvements to a section of CO 67 in Woodland Park northeast of Colorado Springs. Work includes widening CO 67 from County Road (Evergreen Heights) to Kelley’s Road from two to four lanes with a shared turn lane. Other work sitewide includes:

  • Building raised medians near major intersections.
  • Installing new pedestrian facilities
  • Adding signal heads to Kelley’s Road
  • Making drainage and safety improvements

Daytime Traffic Impacts


Monday, April 14 to Friday, April 18 - both directions of CO 67 - new lane alignment, daytime lane closures, with traffic shifts and brief holds
  • New - A new lane alignment is in place within the work zone and caution is advised.
  • Motorists can expect intermittent single lane closures in each direction of CO 67 within the project limits, Monday to Friday.
  • Modified Lane Closure Hours - Single lane closures will exist from 8:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., followed by shoulder and acceleration/deceleration lane closures, as needed.
  • Flaggers will be present to manage alternating traffic flows during lane closures, with brief holds and traffic shifts expected.
  • Uniformed traffic control personnel will be present at the CO 67 and County Road/Evergreen Heights Drive intersection and at the CO 67/West Kelley's Road intersection, as needed to maintain safety.
  • Working hours are 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday to Friday.
  • The project limits on CO 67 extend from Mile Point 76.92 to MP 79.21.
  • New - speed reductionspeeds are reduced to 35 mph within the work zone until Oct. 31.
  • An 11-foot width restriction is in place.
  • Construction schedules are weather-dependent and subject to change.
  • Visit cotrip.org for real-time road conditions and lane closures.
Work includes restriping pavement, removing signs and delineators, processing backfill material, potholing, and installing storm drainage pipe.
