Ready to represent your community on City Council? The next City Council election is April 7, 2026. Beginning Tuesday, January 6, 2026, nomination petitions for open City Council seats will be available for pickup and circulation. Candidates will have twenty (20) days to gather the required signatures. Completed petitions must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than Monday, January 26, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. To schedule an appointment to pick up nomination petitions, please contact the City Clerk's office at: 719-687-5295
Qualifications
Prospective candidates must be a resident of the City and a registered elector who has resided within the City limits for a period of at least 2 years immediately preceding the date of the election. You must also be a United States citizen and at least 18 years of age.
